Gigantic conspiracy plots lost their shine for me a long time ago. When I was much younger, I used to read about the plot to kill JFK and that took years to get over completely, because so many people believe in the plot.
Lucky for me I got to see firsthand how well government conspiracies work when I watched the Watergate Hearings on live television.
Tomorrow is the day! Yay! Tuesday is the day that the “patriots” on the extreme right “get their country back.” It was bound to happen, what with all of these religious patriots with guns running around playing politics to cover up for their sense of entitlement, their cowardice, their abject selfishness and their bigotry against everyone else.
So I actually read an article in Psychology Today, just so I can define the crap we constantly hear from conservatives. One phrase stood out: “delusional disorder.” I really had no idea how complicated this stuff was. But in an attempt to explain what we are dealing with the research has proven to be well worth the effort. And I will present my case forthwith on today’s show with ‘Some Call It Crazy’
Some of the common threads between what appears to be political and what does not are anger, odd or extreme behavior and abject ignorance. Thanks to these oddities of our culture, we now know that their collective body has a name. Let’s just call it the ‘Flight of the Wacko Birds’
